Guitar dilemma

Monday, October 16, 2006

I've been going back and forth between several options on what guitar I'm looking to get next.
This shouldn't be that hard of a decision...but for some reason, it is for me. It just shouldn't be this hard to spend money. Believe me, I love spending the money....I'm quite well at it, and don't usually have this hard of a time with it. I've now moved to looking at another brand of guitars besides the Gibsons. Still a Les Paul type body, and similar sound coming from it...but different nonetheless. Plus, now all of my voting/research on what color to get may be in vain...because this other brand doesn't quite have the color options that I had with the Les Paul. So what we have now is the Hagstrom Swede or Super Swede vs. Gibson Les Paul. The Hagstrom is a very much less known guitar line...had quite a following in it's vintage days though. And the price tag is much more appealing than the Les Paul. The Hagstrom Super Swede, which is the model I'm leaning more towards, only comes in Black, Vintage Sunburst, Cherry Sunburst and Amber Sunburst. The Swede, which doesn't have a couple features that the Super Swede has that I think I want, comes in more solid colors....Wild Cherry, Black, White and Gold Top...I really dig the white, with black pickguard. Just trying to decide if I like the colors of the Super Swede, or if I can live without the features on it and settle for the regular Swede. I'm pretty much set on one or the other, and not gonna try for a Les Paul now though. From what I've read about them online (reviews, etc.), they seem like they'd fit me wonderfully. So, find color examples to refer to here from the Les Pauls. The Lightburst on the Les Pauls is similar to the Amber Sunburst on the Hagstroms.

dude...what's cooler than a black guitar?

you should go for two! black and burst...or is that glutinous...whatever. Can't go wrong with the black, but if you're leaning away from the super then that white one sounds pretty choice as well.
