Monday, August 28, 2006

Be careful out there on the roads and highways....you have to watch out for people like this. Such disregard for others...drinking and driving like this.

I hate...

Tuesday, August 22, 2006

Sorry Paul, but I had to steal your line.

I hate drugs.

I found out today that a good friend of mine from high school died this last weekend. We were pretty close during high school, and haven't really been in contact that much since then. The times we have seen each other after high school though, we've chatted like we hadn't missed a beat, and I always considered him my friend. He did, however, have quite a problem. We all knew he'd been dabbling with drugs during high school, and apparently got worse after that.

So I hear today that he has died over the weekend....overdose. I stayed pretty busy all day, didn't have much time to think about it. Now that I'm home, away from the craziness at the office, and sitting here doing nothing....it's hitting me pretty hard. I've become pretty down about it all, and having a hard time dealing with it.

Thanks for reading through this and acting interested though....

Interesting...

Two posts in one day!?!? That's unheard of! But I found this interesting...not as freaky as I initially thought, but very interesting.

Fueled...or something

Well, now that we're done with Refuel, all it's done is refuel me to play more gigs! Come on Todd, get with it. Make some calls, line 'em up, tell us when and where....

Does anyone ever wonder if anyone across the world is listening to the exact same song as you, at the exact same moment? And not even just the same song in general, but the exact same time of the song and all that....like are they singing along with the same words at the exact time that you are? Who else has their iPod or computer or CD player or radio playing, and is belting out the lyrics right along with you?

A wasted day...

Monday, August 14, 2006

I'll tell you this much...today was the most wasteful feeling day I can remember in my lifetime. I have to upgrade my laptop operating system from the Windows XP Home to Windows XP Professional, in order to access the network and server and everything at my office...cause I'm starting a new job actually working in the office 95% of the time, instead of like 5% before.

I decide to go buy an external hard drive, so I can back up all the contents of my computer before I do this upgrade. So I head on down to Staples this morning, buy me an external hard drive (with my money), and buy a copy of the XP Pro upgrade (with company money, score! cause that was like $200). Come back to the office and proceed to install the external hard drive on my laptop and begin the torture. Without exaggeration, this stupid backup took about 7 hours of my day today...meaning I can't really do much of anything on my computer, work related, until it was done. I was still able to get online and waste time that way, but the computer was still really slow due to the copying, saving, etc. So I pretty much sat there all day listening to my iPod and talking to people on instant messenger.

Finally finished the backup, came home, and proceeded to install the XP Pro upgrade....which took another hour and half nearly. But now, it's done. And I feel like today was useless. I should have brought my guitar to work with me to mess around with songs for Refuel....

Too early in the morning....

Tuesday, August 01, 2006

I wake up at some ungodly time, like 6:30 this morning, and am forced to stay awake. My thoughts wander over to my brand, spankin new iPod sitting on my bedside table. Oh yeah, I got a new iPod, by the way. Considering I seem to have lost my old mp3 player, and all the mp3 players I saw in D.C., my subconscious got the best of me and made me buy an iPod a few days ago. After lingering over the choices presented to me at Best Buy, I settled on the 30 GB iPod. I like it.

Now, back to my wandering thoughts....I reach over, grab the iPod, throw in the earphones, and fire up some Snoop Dogg......I'm sorry, subconscious nagging again.....fire up some Black Crowes. I had forgotten how cool the Black Crowes are, then I decided to download some of their songs for my snazzy new iPod. These guys are some true rockers, I don't care what nobody says. If I were any other rock star, besides myself, I'd be Chris or Rich Robinson from the Black Crowes....I guess since I'm a guitarist, I'd be Rich. Yeah, that dude is awesome. I'd have to grow my hair out quite a bit though, and I don't know how I'd look with long hair.

So....why post a blog about all this? I have no clue. Nothing better was going on, and it was time for a new post. Just sit back, relax and let the music soak in.
